Saudi Football Federation Sets Date for Al-Hilal and Al-Nasr King's Cup Final Showdown

Al-Riyadiah newspaper has officially confirmed the date for the Al-Hilal vs. Al-Nasr match in the King’s Cup final, marking the conclusion of the 2023-2024 sports season in Saudi Arabia.

Al-Hilal earned their place in the final by defeating Al-Ittihad 2-1, their seventh victory over Al-Ittihad this season across all competitions. Al-Nassr, on the other hand, secured their first King's Cup final appearance in four years with a 3-1 win over Al-Khaleej, highlighted by Cristiano Ronaldo's two-goal brilliance.

Throughout the season, Al-Hilal and Al-Nasr faced off five times. Al-Nasr claimed a 2-1 victory in the Arab Championship, while Al-Hilal triumphed in the first round of the Saudi League with a 3-0 win. Al-Hilal also defeated Al-Nasr 2-0 in the Riyadh Season Cup and 2-1 in the Super Cup semi-finals. Their most recent encounter ended in a 1-1 draw in the second round of the Saudi League, with Aleksandar Mitrovic’s late penalty equalizing Otávio’s early goal.

The highly anticipated King’s Cup final is scheduled for Friday, May 31, 2024, at Jeddah’s Radiant Jewel Stadium, with kickoff at 9 PM Mecca time (20:00 GMT+1). Both teams will have their last league matches prior to the final; Al-Nasr faces Al-Ittihad, while Al-Hilal plays against Al-Wahda. Al-Hilal has already secured the Saudi League title with three rounds to spare, while Al-Nasr has clinched second place.

Al-Nassr is aiming to win the King’s Cup for the first time in three decades, seeking to end the season with a major trophy after falling short in the league, AFC Champions League, and Super Cup. Al-Hilal, meanwhile, is striving for a local double, having suffered only one defeat this season in the first leg of the AFC Champions League semi-finals against Al Ain.

Al Nassr last won the King’s Cup in 1990 and has claimed the title six times. Al Hilal, the defending champion, has won the King’s Cup 10 times, with only Al Ahli having more victories, with 13 titles.
